Fund-Raising Sundowner

Successful Sundowner Raises $10,000

On 21st February 2020, over 60 supporters of the Kate Mullin Association gathered at Treasurer John Goodall’s house for a fund-raising sundowner for the Kate Mullin Scholarship.

Unfortunately our Patron, the Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP, Minister for Indigenous Australians had to cancel at the last moment.

The event was superbly MC-ed by Ron Gorman, KMA committee member and Deputy Director of AISWA.  Ken Mullin, chairperson of the Association, spoke about the Scholarship and how it will help get more Aboriginal teachers into Aboriginal schools.  Don Burnside read out wonderful testimonials from our two scholarship awardees, Malcolm Maloney and Michael Wohlrab.  John Goodall spoke about the funds required by the Association.

Donors were very generous and the event raised $10,000 for the Scholarship Fund.  Overall it was a splendid evening with plenty of food and drink consumed.  The committee’s thanks go to John and Margery Goodall for hosting such an excellent event.
